EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE 2023

PR ASSISTANT

Lily Marriott PR is heading back to the Edinburgh Fringe Fringe, following the company’s debut last year working across a range of comedy shows, two of which were nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best Show.

This year, we’re looking for a publicity assistant to join us in the lead up to and during the festival in August. The time ahead of the festival will be to prepare as a team and get clear on logistics, but likely to be around 4 working days in total across June and July. Dates can be discussed on an individual basis.

With 14 comedy shows on the roster for this year, we’re looking for a comedy fan who is a strong communicator, organised, a creative thinker, confident and can keep calm and positive amidst a busy working environment. Ideally, they would have some Fringe and PR experience, but it’s not essential - we’re open to hear from all enthusiastic souls.

Working alongside Lily Marriott, the publicity assistant will help to deliver strong press campaigns, securing interviews, social media collaborations, listings, and reviews coverage. This will be a great opportunity to build on your PR skills and Fringe knowledge throughout the month, and enjoy being a part of the festival (exciting!).

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with clients, press and Fringe venues

  • Outreaching to press contacts

  • Managing the company’s social media accounts, including the creation of creating bespoke content and sharing press coverage

  • Attending shows

  • Drafting client updates

  • Capturing press clippings

There may be opportunity for further PR work beyond the Fringe, as we’re always looking for passionate people to support our campaigns.

The role at the festival will be from Sat 30th July to Mon 28th August, with each day generally starting at 9.30am with an in-person team meeting, followed by key actions, then attending shows from mid afternoon onwards, with work mixed in between. You will have at least 4 days off during the festival (dates TBC). The fixed fee is £2,200, plus you will have Pleasance, Assembly and Gilded Balloon venue passes.

We unfortunately cannot cover travel or accommodation.

If all of this sounds like it could be up your street, then please email your CV to lily@lilymarriottpr.com, along with a cover letter including why you think you’d be a great fit for the job, any creative social media content ideas/past work and a bit more about your passion for comedy.

Applications close on 31st May, followed by interviews w/c 5th June.
